Antique Date 1899 Size P Bloodstone Signet Ring
A handsomely red Jasper speckled Bloodstone signet ring dating to the closing years of the 19th century and made by the workshop of Edward Vaughton of Birmingham in the heraldic style on a pleasingly sculpted band complimenting the simplicity of the setting; an 'historical' style which was the very epitome of taste at the time. Reflecting an interest in indigenous 'pebbles', Scottish Agate jewellery was very fashionable and especially so after Queen Victoria bought her Balmoral estate. In wonderful condition and a fabulous choice to add a touch of individuality to your everyday style.
Stones: nicely speckled Bloodstone, newly re-polished. Historically known as Heliothrope.
Metal: The mount is of 15ct Gold, hallmarked in 1899 at the now closed Chester Assay Office. There is also a makers mark for Edward Vaughton Jeweller, of Warstone Lane and Vyse Street in Birmingham
Ring Size: The ring size can be altered somewhat to fit. It measures as an 'P' or '7.5' as is.
Measurements: The panel measures 8.5mm lengthwise. The band measures 3.5mm wide.
