The stone is similar to an old mine cut diamond, it is considered to be one of the first brilliant cut diamonds developed in the 17th century. \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAt this time the stones would have had a life in another article of jewellery: perhaps an extravagant brooch or ring as only the very wealthiest could afford such a rarefied item; there is so much to be explored...
